I will, I say to myself. I will become an actress. “Stop fantisizin’ and get your tush over here!”, called my 16 year old sister, Danyelliah. “Mamas’ been callin’ your name for 10 minutes now!”, Danyelliah said angrily with a heavy Texan accent, while smacking her gum wildly. “Why don’t you mind your own beeswax Danyelliah! And besides, how do you know I was fantisizin?”, I replied with an angry attitude in my voice. “ cuz that what you always do, now shutup and go downstairs!”. I really don’t like my sister, she is the worst sister I could ever ask for. She always bothers me just because I daydream. She isn’t really from Texas. She just talks like that because she thinks it sounds cooler. The last time I didn’t cooperate and talk back to her in a Texan accent, my head got a nice little trip to the toilet. Here is the thing about my mom, she doesn’t care when my sister is mean to me. Uggggggggggh! What a life.
“honey, why do you take so long to get down here even after Danyelliah asks you?”, wondered my mom as Danyelliah put her fingers together to indicate, shame on me. “ANSWER ME ANNARANJADO!”, screamed my mom. Yes, my full name is Annaranjado. That means orange in Spanish. My mom spells it different than the correct spelling though. I am only called by my full name if I am in trouble. Usually people call me Anna. “What mom?”, I replied with a bit of an attitude. “Have you done your chores? And Danyelliah, stop with that ridiculous Texan accent.”, she said with a hint of irritation in her voice. “what chores?”, I asked with complete awarness of what she was talking about. Wait for it, wait for it…………… “But mama why?”, there goes Danyelliah, still using the same Texan accent. “Annaranjado, clean the bathrooms, do your homework, and take care of the dishes! Danyelliah, it sounds stupid, don’t give me an attitude about it and go upstairs!”. And that is only a little bit of my life. Now about that dream…….
